Today we spent the whole day on the Reef and it was soo amazing! We snorkled in two places and saw tons of fish. Angel and Butterfly were the two most common types! We did not see any sharks or sea snakes so I was happy. On the way out to the reef it took 90 minutes and and bunch of us sat on the bow of the boat and got toally soaked. I think the skipper was trying to throw us over! We got a really cool picture of us underwater also! I even got to wear this awesome wet suit! haha not really but it was fun and kept me warm. It was a bit cloudy but still very very fun!
What a long day! The morning started out well. I met Steve at the airport and we headed out to Dallas for the first leg of the trip. The plane was full, but we were lucky enough to have a spare seat between us. It was a comfy flight, we even talked geography (yes we are nerds). We got to Dallas ahead of schedule and the connecting flight was late, which gave us about a 3.5 hour layover. We walked all around the terminals and had an alcohol infused lunch (the drinks were large). We then met up with everyone on the connecting flight and headed to El Paso. We got our luggage and rental car with no problems. Next stop :Hotel First Impressions: Uhhhhh....where do we park? Highlights: The front office was closed due to construction so we had to check in in the laundry room. The only elevator in the building is broken. (Naturally, we are on floor 2) Danny's reservation was lost. Best Part: I went to check into my room, after a long day of traveling, and much to my surprise I open the door...
Hello from Lisboa! Just a quick note to let you know that we have arrived in Lisboa after a long sleepless flight and are enjoying this city! We arrived to a country that does not need landing cards or a formal customs process, so that was a surprise. Maybe it is because they do not get a huge amount of tourists? We took a taxi to our apartment for the week before heading up to the National park. The apartment is so nice - 2 bedrooms 2 bathrooms- and a spacious kitchen living room and dining area. It is halfway up this really steep hill, so we are definitely going to be getting our workouts in. This whole town is actually pretty hilly and many of the streets are cobblestone, so our ankles are getting a workout. We went up to the national park to get my race packet, and to tour the national aquarium. This is the largest aquarium in Europe! It was pretty cool to see so many kind of fish in one place! We have also been stopping in churches along our journey to take in the masterpieces...
