Today we spent the whole day on the Reef and it was soo amazing! We snorkled in two places and saw tons of fish. Angel and Butterfly were the two most common types! We did not see any sharks or sea snakes so I was happy. On the way out to the reef it took 90 minutes and and bunch of us sat on the bow of the boat and got toally soaked. I think the skipper was trying to throw us over! We got a really cool picture of us underwater also! I even got to wear this awesome wet suit! haha not really but it was fun and kept me warm. It was a bit cloudy but still very very fun!
G'day Mates! The touristy stuff we did on Sunday worked out well. The Mcgoffin house was actually closed for Christmas Tea, but we persuaded them to give us a tour anyways! The house is made completely of adobe. If you are not familiar, it is a clay like substance and when it rains the house leaks. Four generations of Mcgoffins lived there before turning it over to the state. There are only two steps in the house because of the adobe there is no foundation but the walls are 3ft thick. The aerial tramway was also pretty sweet. We ventured to the highest point in Texas. It was about a mile above sea level at the top of the Franklin Mountains. At the top, we walked around and saw two nations and 2 states. It was a clear day out so we could see well in to New Mexico and the snow resorts. I then visited some family friends and they took me to the best taco place in the area. It was sooo good! Yesterday, we went out to dinner and all entered in a free giveaway. Sunday morning was a bit rough waking up after a time change, drinks and jet lag...but we made it out of the house by 915 to get on the train into London. The people watching in other countries is fantastic and here it did not disappoint! On our walk to the train station, we passed an old Abbey where King Henry VIII had monks killed when he pulled away from the catholic church since he wanted a divorce. |The abbey was then left to rot and the remains are still there. It was a cool tale to hear along our walk. We rode like cattle in the train to London, it is the most popular train route and once arrived headed out of Paddington station to find our hostel in St Paul's area. |We dropped off our stuff and headed out to walk down the embankment towards the London Eye. |We booked tickets ahead of time to avoid lines so we took in some sights along the way. |we saw somerset house, London eye and big Ben from afar, walked up to Parliament and around to Westminster (we will go in tomorrow ...
