Wednesday - back to Verbicaro with my brothers!

Image
I am slacking with my posts! Since my brother's arrived, we've been non stop and now have 7 kids around! Free time is spent playing with the kids, where time should be spent!  Wednesday morning, we boarded the bus to Verbicaro with my brothers and did a similar experience, to include a delicious dinner in the U'Catuv. We are also able to spend time at the beach! Being near waves and floating in the Mediterranean is always a treat! The fun new experiences on this trip we're that we went to the jewelry store where my Papa Rossi would shop, and shopped ourselves! and we went on a boat ride in Scalea Thursday morning.  At the Rest stop and saw a Police! My fam! Still matching 35 years later!  The whole fam! Grandkids:  Beach time: Verbicaro: 15 course dinner again! We did a boat ride Thurs morning:

The wifi has been down for the last day and a half. Will expand posts later.. Monday we went into Sorrento to shop (i.e. buy all the linen clothing)  then my brother Carlo and his family arrived with their 10 week old!!! My other brother Nick, and his family arrived around dinner time. Christian is thrilled maverick is here!!  Tuesday was a time zone adjustment day at the villa with a cool part being 2 of my cousins on my dad's side are also here with friends in Praiano, coincidentally so they came to visit for a few hours! We pooled and street hockeyd and had a delicious gnocchi & eggplant parm dinner by our hosts!  Tomorrow, we are off to Verbicaro!

Just a few fun snaps of the kids while we were in Ravello. They are hilarious.  ^ One of our hosts, Gaetano - they had appetizers/drinks by the pool one evening. He played baby shark for Cecilia =  Friends for life. 😂

Sunday at the Villa

Sunday - A (much needed) day of rest This morning as folks departed for the airport my mom and her siblings (and spouses), went on and all day Pompeii/ Naples excursion! That left me and James to fend for ourselves haha! Jk, we missed our kiddos and looked forward to a day with them. We went back down to the town playground and Christian had a much better experience playing soccer with a little boy, and we enjoyed a delicious lunch at il pamorama.  We walked back home, and the kids napped. Christian is fighting an ear infection so he was taking it easy, I was able to sit outside for about 3 hours and read! Woo! I brought a few paperback books and had a goal of getting through them during this trip! A nice relaxing afternoon to rest and recharge. It rained last night, and wa overcast today making for a calm day and break in the heat.  We ordered dinner in, and I accidentally ordered for cheese pizzas, instead of pasta so the ...

Back to the Villa with a Pizza Making class

Image
Since we had hiked up from Amalfi to Ravello we figured the hike down could only be half as hard! It was actually way easier and faster to go downhill, with many stops to look out and take in the views. Knowing we didn't want another wild bus adventure we booked a speed ferry from Amalfi to Sorrento! I highly recommend this option as it was a beautiful view and efficient!  Back in Amalfi  A quiet breakfast before returning to the Villa We walked up (yes dozens more stairs) to downtown Sorrento from the port, and grabbed a pizza while waiting fory mom, aunts, & cousins to finish shopping and we shared a taxi home.  The evening brought us another fun family experience of pizza making in a family farm! Donnell and Magda add research this experience that was kid friendly! There was a playground plenty of farm animals to walk around and see and a hilariously sarcastic family that owned the property and hosted the pizza making...

Friday in Ravello

Image
Friday - Ravello We spent Friday morning walking between all the ceramic shops trying to find our first piece of art together! #8years! There are two main ceramic shops in Ravello and we ended up going with the one that chat GPT also recommended 😉 - Pascal's! After spending an hour and a half looking at art and going back and forth on different designs we both settled on a blue and orange piece that we felt was unique, and tied in our wedding colors. We also thought about where we'd want to display in our house. So much to think about! Ha we should receive our piece in September!  After that we went to the Duomo di Ravello - built in the 11thj century - and took in the history and sculpting genius of the time. Mosaics on historic columns, and Christian relics. The church was beautiful and ornate. Ravello is known as a wedding destination, so it was cool to read their bulletin of all the upcoming weddings! We saw a wedding walking down the street each evening! ...
