Here we go

Sweet! I remembered my password!

So I am off to El Paso tomorrow morning. I am looking forward to traveling for work. We are going to Fort Bliss to measure the "usable space" in the military buildings. Our goal is to measure 4000 sq.ft per hour. Good thing we are wearing tennis shoes. We are using these neat laser measuring things, which should be an ineresting experience.

The first two days we are there Steve and I will be taking pictures of all the buildings! I sure hope it doesn't rain! :)

Right now I am taking a break from packing. It is had to pack for a long time and for both work and pleasure. Not to mention I am such a girl when it comes to things like that.

i hear el paso sucks. this steve character sounds shady. I recommend buying some pepper spray in case he tries to pull anything. protect yo'self so you don't wreck yo'self.

Great Barrier Reef

Today we spent the whole day on the Reef and it was soo amazing! We snorkled in two places and saw tons of fish. Angel and Butterfly were the two most common types! We did not see any sharks or sea snakes so I was happy. On the way out to the reef it took 90 minutes and and bunch of us sat on the bow of the boat and got toally soaked. I think the skipper was trying to throw us over! We got a really cool picture of us underwater also! I even got to wear this awesome wet suit! haha not really but it was fun and kept me warm. It was a bit cloudy but still very very fun!

Day 1 - Famiglia!

Waking up in Amalfi is quite glorious!  23 of us arrived yesterday on 7 flights with only minor travel delays! Our Villa hosts made us a delicious dinner and to no surprise with this family it turned into karaoke 🎤 as everyone tried to get a post travel day second wind. It's important to stay up as late as possible to adjust to the time change, they say 😉 This morning we woke up to cappuccinos and breakfast from our hosts to start day one of lounging. Today, was a very comfortable 80 degree day of pool, ping pong, catching up, and enjoying the views.  Zio Tony is making his famous pasta and meat sauce for dinner this evening 😋🍽️!  I think this view is what "sold" my mom on this house: Pool and hot tub: Our relaxing view of Amalfi: Dinner! Well, hello long lost travel buddy! Dusting off the old blog as we gear up for a month long adventure in Italy! The idea to travel was a part of my maternal grandparents plan once they passed, but none of us knew about it, which makes this plan extra special! They told my mom and her 3 siblings that a trip to Italy is what they wanted for us with any leftover money. They passed away 2 years ago, so this idea has been in the making for several years!  This trip carries extra meaning for us as my grandparents immigrated to the US in the late 60s. My grandma had to come over only with my mom, and secure work to prove her stability before my grandfather and uncles could follow. As we've gotten older my mom has shared more on her experience, and I have such respect and admiration for how strong my grandmother was - both in mind and physical grit to prove herself as an immigrant to be able to apply for a greencard.
