Vino Tinto Por Favor

Upon many recommendataions we headed to La Cabrera for dinner in Palermo Viejo..I am not one to take pictues of food but the steak we got the best we have ever seen. It was stuffed with cheese, sundried tomatoes and jamon. Totally worth every cent.

The restaurant itself was a new experience. It was actually to buildings a block apart and we got there around 10 and waited for an hour for a table. We got to people watch and confirmed Amanda's thesis that only coastal amercians travel outside the country. We met some people from NJ who were in an MBA class and a crazy New Yorker. She was not the american export we would like to send out as a representative. When waiting at restaurants in Bs As they provide you with champagne and a light appitizer. we will be suggesting this place to anyone we run into traveling to BA.

Yesterday, we slept in and then went up to La Boca where we toured the futbol stadium. We walked around the musuem and then went on a tour, which was all in spanish. Our spanish skills combined allowed us to pick up on 1/4 of the tour and we didnt get any of the jokes. it was the hardest our brains have worked all week.

The stadium reminded us of being at nats stadium in anacostia. We did not travel outisde the block of the arena as it is a ghetto area. We saw babies crawling on the street and boys in hoodies who were up to no good. After an extreamly overpriced meal *where you are charged to sit down at a table* we departed and went to the Zoo *pronounced SUU. We had slight troubles telling our cabbie where to go with our harsh accents.

The Suu was also a suggestion provided by many and we are not sure why. The only thing we can gather is that they wanted us to see a depressing and disturbing view of animals who were on the verge of dying. I think we did see a dead camel. Talk about inhumain. We felt so depressed we had to leave. this was not the exciting trip we were hoping for. However, the one thing that will us back to this zoo was the colorful baboons who greeted us with a prono show!!! As we walked up to the exhibit the male decided he needed an afternoon delight! I dont what was worse ...the animals doing it or us taking pictures of it.

To clear our minds we took a 2.5 hour walk home and timed it just right to witness the military men retire the colors outside of casa rosada. Oh and I almost got us deported on our walk back.. All because I wanted a picture with the 3 little apples (they help with my thesis that BA is the big apple of the south( Let me explain, We have been seeing this art display of 3 green 6ft tall apples multiple times a day as we go on tours or ride in taxi's and so we decided on our walk back to get a picture with this art piece. Being excited and bit clumsy I threw my camera at amanda and ran right over to monument...little did I know that the apples are made out of CARDBOARD!!! I caught myself and one apple just in time as they were falling out of place. They were stacked in a pyramid. I am not sure how they stay up with the wind but I was able to keep the art masterpiece alive and we did get some pictures after calming down.

After a few moments of rest back at the hostel we went off to try some wines.

ALDO
Amanda found a wine bar to try from her research and it was a real gem. We had their FLIGHT trio which was the 3 wines and an appitizer. ONce again we loved the Malbec. This place was so trendy that their 42 page wine list was an app on an Ipad. We also heard another american givig us a bad name in the restaurant trying to by wine and saying that she was from Estados Unitis. UGH Amanda and I are trying to do our best at goodwill ambassadors but there are too many ignorant americans.

We then moved on to a fantastic dinner at Club Espanola. We had another bottle of malbec accompanied by Paella con Rabbit. Our waiter got a kick out of us and so we stuck around for dessert - bombon and dulce de leche ice cream.

I have to cut this short becuase we are going to IGUAZU FALLS!!!!

More to come!!!!

Marcella and Amanda
